Banned TikTok/musical.ly Application from Google and Apple Play Store, Download Here

The Government of India has asked Google and Apple to remove the TikTok Application from their Play Store. More people will not be able to download the app after this government order. However, those people who have already downloaded the app will be able to use the TikTok/musical.ly.



According to media reports, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has taken this step after the order passed by the Supreme Court on Monday. The company, owned by Tick Talk/musical.ly, said that Madurai Bench of Madras High Court has issued a one-sided decision to ban the app in absence of the company side. By making this basis, the company had petitioned the Supreme Court to ban the order of the Madras High Court which was rejected by the Supreme Court.

The High Court imposed a ban on the download of musical.ly


The Madurai bench of the Madras High Court passed an order on April 3 and directed the government to ban the download of tickets in the country. The High Court had argued that the Stick App encourages pornography. After this, the matter was moved to the Supreme Court. Where the Bench headed by Ranjan Gogoi said on Monday that the order of the Madras High Court is only an interim order and the matter is still under consideration. The Madras High Court will hear on April 16 and the Supreme Court on April 22.

Third party content is not our responsibility - company


According to a report by the Economic Times, TikTok/musical.ly has described the order as insulting, discriminatory and arbitrary, and has not made any comments regarding the ban. TikTok said it was wrong to make the third party responsible for the content uploaded by them. Since July 2018, the company has removed more than 60 million such videos from its platform, which do not follow the company's guidelines.
